Surprisingly, a not so subtle minority of the clinical presentations I encounter in practice are women, or assigned female at birth in an insignificant percentage of those patients. How is it that term so inextricably linked with so-called adult men also characterizes so many women who have for now flown under-the-radar of researchers, like myself, while being ambivalent AND oblivious to valid concerns that would end the start of anything relationship-wise by “normies,” so to speak?
